Downtown Kalamazoo Parking Costs Just Went Up

Does parking in downtown Kalamazoo cost too much?  According to this change.org petition it does.

A petition was started Saturday on Change.org by Kris Mbah to dial back the cost of parking downtown Kalamazoo.

According to the petition,

On 3/21/16, the Kalamazoo Downtown Development Authority directors UNANIMOUSLY approved a parking plan that will raise parking meter costs from $1.50 to $2.00, extend meter enforcement from 6pm to 9pm, and include Saturdays in their enforcement. It must still be approved by the Kalamazoo City Commission.

As of 6:15 this morning the petition had 54 supporters.

Do you think raising the parking meter costs from $1.50 to $2.00 is too much?

Personally, I am a little more annoyed with extending the parking meter enforcement from 6 PM to 9 PM.  What do you think?
