Cool App Lets You Rent Your Own Nearby Private Swimming Pool
Swimply is like Uber for swimming. Rent your neighbor's pool by the hour and stay cool this summer without the hassle.
This is brilliant. No more crowded beaches or trying to talk your way into the apartment complex swimming pool. You don't have to worry about getting sand in everything or hoping to get one of the four chairs available at the municipal pool. Rent a nearby pool for you and your family or friends with Swimply.
Not only is your own swimming pool expensive to install, it requires a major commitment to keep it running. Skimming, sweeping and vacuuming is a weekly, if not daily chore. Don't forget to keep the right balance of chemicals in the water, or your sparking crystal-clear, refreshing water will become cloudy and green. So, if you're looking for all of the fun and none of the work, why not rent instead of buy?
The sharing economy not only survived the Coronavirus pandemic, it thrived. Services like Uber, Lyft, Grubhub, Doordash, Instacart, Shipt, Airbnb and others allow the sharing and renting of resources like transportation and housing to provide services, goods and collaboration on many levels. It seems like only a matter of time since it has come to this: an Airbnb for swimming pools.
For about $30 an hour, you can chill by the pool with your family, invite your friends, get in a few laps, organize a fun event, or do a photo or video shoot. These are just a few ideas of what people are using the Swimply app for. Currently, there are private pools available in the Kalamazoo area in Gobles and Plainwell. If you have a pool and it doesn't see much use, sign up with Swimply and "swim in the profits." The service is also branching out into renting basketball courts, private gyms, and even home studios.
Enjoy this new way to stay cool this summer.
