A petition has caught traction on change.org to change the name of Columbus, OH to Flavortown.

We are now living in the most "woke" society in history.  Many people say it's about time as others feel the political correctness has gone too far.  From NASCAR banning the confederate flag to the Paw Paw Redskins changing their mascot.  To say that these are hot button issues that are dividing the country would be an understatement.

With that being said, Guy Fieri fans have their politically correct eyeballs focused on the sins of Christopher Columbus.  Some Ohioans want to do more than remove Christopher Columbus related monuments.  They want to change the name of the state capitol to Flavortown according to the change.org petition,

Why not rename the city Flavortown? The new name is twofold. For one, it honors Central Ohio's proud heritage as a culinary crossroads and one of the nation's largest test markets for the food industry. Secondly, cheflebrity Guy Fieri was born in Columbus, so naming the city in honor of him (he's such a good dude, really) would be superior to its current nomenclature.

The petition goal is 150,000.  As of 5:56 A.M. on Monday, June 29th they have 113,218 signatures.  Reaching the goal however will not mean the city will be forced to change it's name.  In fact, it doesn't even guarantee city or state officials will even take the matter seriously.

Do you think Columbus, Ohio should change it's name?  If so, what do you think of Flavortown?
