Authorities Say Muskegon Man Was The Gunman In WMU Student’s Death
The second suspect in the shooting death of a Western Michigan University student might have been the one to pull the trigger.
MLive reports that during court hearings before the Christmas holiday, Kalamazoo authorities testified that 20-year-old Jordan Waire of Muskegon was seen by witnesses driving a car near the scene, and carrying a handgun.
Authorities say that Waire, along with 19-year-old Joviair Kennedy, entered an apartment near WMU’s campus the night of December 12 and shot 19-year-old Jacob Jones when he stood up from a couch. The pair then allegedly robbed the remaining occupants of the apartment of their money, phones and marijuana.
Both Waire and Kennedy are facing murder, armed robbery and felony firearm charges.
