A Record High Michigan Lotto 47 Jackpot Had Two Winners Saturday

Two lucky Michiganders are probably quitting their jobs right now.

If you purchased a Lotto 47 ticket before Saturday nights drawing at Select Wine Shop in Ferndale, MI or a Shell gas station in Lake Odessa, MI, your life might have just changed.  The winning numbers you need to match are: 04-16-33-38-40-44.

The record breaking jackpot was $32.3 million.  Before the drawing on Saturday, November 7th, the highest Lotto 47 jackpot was $23.6 million back in 2008.

So, what's the big appeal of Lotto 47?  At the risk of sounding like a commercial for the Michigan Lottery, here's how it works according to MiLotteryConnect,

Each Lotto 47 play is only $1. Players select six numbers from one to 47 for a chance to win a jackpot starting at $1 million and that grows until someone wins it.

Since there were two matching tickets purchased, the two winners will split the jackpot down the middle.  That's still a jaw dropping 16.3 million dollars for each winner.  Each winner will easily be able to quit their jobs, buy new houses and fancy cars and still have money to invest.  Cards on the table, if I won 16 dollars I would be pretty pumped right now.

There's no word on if the two lucky Michiganders have been identified and have claimed their winnings yet.
