This past Friday at our 5:01 Party at The Union Cabaret & Grille was a whole lot of fun, especially since they featured free appetizers that will be making their official debut today, as The Union unveils its new menu. Chef John and the GM of The Union, David Long were generous enough to make me a few meals that will be on the menu and I wanted to give a small review of a few them.

Cajun Ribeye w/ Smashed Red Skin Potatoes, Asparagus & Citrus Blue Cheese:

This meal had it all. Make sure you enjoy some spice on your steak when ordering it because it does pack a little heat. But paired with the citrus blue cheese, this steak is out of this world. That sauce is so dangerous, it would enhance anything you wanna dip in it, including the smashed red skins, which were fried to perfection along with the asparagus. You wont need a box after this one.

Southern Shrimp and Sausage w/ Grits:

Take this in. Pablano & White Cheddar Grits, topped with 8 Jumbo Shrimp sauteed in Cajun BBQ Butter sauce, 2 oz. of Andouille Sausage in . I'm just gonna let the video do the talking...
