5 Things Better Than Being Stuck In Westnedge Ave Construction
We just got the news that the construction on Westnedge Avenue in Portage will continue despite an ongoing labor contract dispute that had shut down the road project there as well as over 150 similar projects across Michigan. I myself can't handle driving on Westnedge between Romence Road and Mall Drive because of the chaos. Neither can the people of the Kalamazoo area. In fact, I can think of 5 other things I'd rather do than sit in that construction traffic anymore:
1. Wait In Line At The Secretary Of State
Hey, at least I can play on my phone while I'm there. I could be not moving anywhere for 5 minutes on Westnedge and glance at my phone for 10 seconds and already I've got multiple car lengths in between me and the next car and the guy behind me going insane.
2. Get My Teeth Pulled At The Dentist
The way I look at it, this construction IS like having teeth pulled. At least at the dentist they can give me some good gas to numb the pain. People frown on taking drugs while you drive, so that's a no go.
3. Getting Mugged By A Criminal
Now it's not the most enlightening experiences but at least it gives ya a sense of thrill and makes you appreciate being alive when you're safe and he's gone. Unlike sitting in construction where you wish you had some kind of event happening
4. Getting Kicked In The Groin
Not the most pleasant feeling in the world but at least it gives you a reason to lay down and re-cooperate, maybe even squeeze in a nap while you're down there.
5. Reading Poetry That's Written In A Different Language
Sure it may not make any sense at all, but with a little imagination, that could be the most beautiful piece of work you've ever read in your life. Certainly makes you feel glad you spent your day reading rather than sit in traffic.
