2019 DooDah Parade Spotlights Energy, Inclusion, Acceptance

In some ways it wasn't a traditional DooDah Parade in Downtown Kalamazoo. While the origins of the parade are based on parody and poking a little gentle fun at current events, the 2019 DooDah Parade was first about a theme, but more so about embracing a topic that is in the news headlines a lot currently.

With Consumers Energy a sponsor for the parade along with the YMCA of Greater Kalamazoo, the general suggested theme was energy, energizing and in a more generic form, electricity.

And with the Pride Festival having supplanted Greekfest at Arcadia Creek Festival Site on Super Saturday, a secondary theme was diversity, inclusion and acceptance and "Love Who You Are".

For the competitive portion of the parade, the results were:
