For our sample, we chose cities with a population size between 25,000 and 100,000 residents. Please note that “city” refers to city proper and excludes surrounding metro areas."

Our of 1268 small cities in America Portage, MI ranked #396. That's not too bad right?
East Lansing came in at #495 while Kalamazoo and Battle Creek were neck and neck at #638 and #639.
