The IRS says it has been working to stop identity thieves who have your personal information or a copy of your W-2 from accessing its systems.  Scammers are trying to get a hold of your info, to file YOUR tax return and receive YOUR money.  However, the easiest way to prevent a scammer from stealing your refund is to file and grab it yourself as soon as you can.  The deadline for filing your taxes is Tuesday, April 18th, 2017, but you really should start now.
