What Michigan Area Has The Sexiest Accent
For many Michiganders, this accent is not considered sexy
Many people find the southern accent, (like a person from Atlanta), to have a sexy accent to their words. Or some, enjoy the Long Island accents, that peaks their attraction to another. But what about a Michigan accent (do we even have one)...apparently we do, and many find it sexy! In fact, according to the Detroit Free Press, the website Bigseventravel.com, one particular Michigan twang not only made the Top 50 of Sexiest Accents in the United States, but the Top 15!
The website determined their findings, than rankings based on "sample survey results of our 1.5 million social audience."
Here is the finding that may surprise you! Coming in at #15...
The Yooper Accent
‘Yoopernese’ is the dialect you’ll hear in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. The accent is heavily influenced by the area’s Scandinavian immigrants, so they say ‘yah’ instead of yeah, “d” for “th” (“dere” for there, “dat” for “that”) and ‘eh’ at the end of most sentences.
Ohyah, why not eh? It is something special that only Michigan has, but I do prefer something a tad more...well, different.
