Water Main Break on Eastside of Kalamazoo Leads To Boil Order
The City of Kalamazoo has issued a boil order after a water main break in a small section of the east side of the city.
The precautionary advisory is due to a pressure loss within the water main. The affected area:
Mulhearn Avenue - North side and south side of street between Baker Drive to the west and Nazareth Road to the east;
Baker Drive - West side and east side of street between Mulhearn Avenue to the north and Miami Avenue to the south;
Upland Drive - West side and east side of street from the northernmost end to Gertude Street to the south, including Sunnyside Apartments.
The City of Kalamazoo says "This advisory is precautionary only; there have not been any confirmed tests showing bacteria present in the water main at the location of the break. Initial sampling results will be available within 24 hours of its collection and the final set within 48 hours. It is expected that the advisory will be lifted within 72 hours."
