Potholes in Southwest Michigan

As Spring rears it's bright, shiny head, potholes magically appear.  It's science.  Are you seeing huge potholes on your drive to and from work?

The road in front of my house is looks like a war zone right now.  It's that time of year.

We've received a couple reports of large potholes near the corner or Gull Rd and Sprinkle as well as Gull Rd near Borgess Hospital.

KalamazooCity.org tells us,

Potholes are defects caused by water entering the street sub-base through surface cracks. The water freezes in early winter, causing it to expand. Each time the water freezes and then thaws, the street is damaged and potholes are born!  To report a pothole please call 269-337-8731.

I feel bad for the road crews this year.  They don't have an easy year ahead of them.
