A Northern Michigan Brewery Now Delivers By Seaplane
Nothing gets in the way of Michiganders and their beer.
Having groceries delivered to our homes by gig based companies like Shipt is still fairly new to most of us. Can you imagine having your favorite brewery deliver your beer right to your front door via puddle jumper? Well, that's a thing now in Northern Michigan.
Elk Rapids is a tiny Michigan town surrounded by Grand Traverse Bay, Elk Lake and Torch Lake just Northeast of Traverse City. That is where you'll find Joe Short, the owner of Short's Brewing Company when he's not in a seaplane delivering beer to waterfront residents according to UPI.com,
Steve Smith, aka Aquabear, took off in his seaplane Saturday morning with Joe Short, owner and founder of Short's Brewing Co., to deliver six crates of beer to waterfront properties in Antrim County.
Joe thought he'd give waterfront delivery with a seaplane a shot in March due to the Pandemic. Would you believe it sold way faster than he expected?

By the sound of that instagram post, the seaplane delivery option ship has sailed. However, it sounds like it was so popular that we could see this service fly back in someday.
