Two restaurants in Ferndale Michigan have installed air-conditioned dog houses outside their businesses.

The restuarants decided to install the dog houses to show that they were dog friendly and wanted to support people being out and around town with their furry friends.

According to Mlive.com Michigan is not the first to have this pet friendly device...

These are the first dog houses that have been installed outside of New York where they were created by the Brooklyn- based company DogSpot.

It sounds great but I immediately thought about cleanness of the houses and how they work. Here is how it works...

The secure, spacious and clean dog houses use UV lights to kill bacteria in between uses and come with a puppy cam so you can keep an eye on your pooch while inside the restaurants.

And how it works is...

DogSpot locations can be discovered, accessed and reserved up to 15 minutes in advance via a membership card or an app that can be downloaded on your smartphone.

I think this is wonderful! I would love to try this and see how my puppy Olive does in it. Heck, they have a great landscape of people walking by, plus they are cool and safe. Next time I visit Ferndale, I will diffidently try this out with my girl Olive.
