It seems like every day a new prognosis on the Pandemic is put forth.  We shut down the country and flattened the curve.  Then we started to open an the virus spiked.  Now there's a good chance we may have to shut down again.

I'm not going to go into the debate over masks, social distancing and personal responsibility.  There's plenty of time for that.  What we do need to deal with is whether or not we're going to be able to get through financially until a vaccine comes along.

We've been talking  a lot about checks lately.  There was a domestic travel stimulus package that was floated giving a family $4,000 to go on vacations to stimulate the hard-hit hospitality industry and the $600 unemployment compensation supplement that has yet to be extended past the end of the month.

Now comes the HEROES Act which is like round 2 of the CARES Act but on steroids.  In this $3 trillion package there would be another round of $1,200 checks to adults and children.  It also expands the number of people who are eligible to receive government aid by including college students and older teenagers.  The total nut would be capped at $6,000 per family.

However, one of the problems of getting this through the senate is they don't want to reward people for not working much like the extra $600 unemployment supplement is doing right now in some cases.  The good news for those who really need the help is lawmakers in Washington agree that more needs to be done.  It's just a matter of when and how soon.
