Michigan is known for many things, including winter weather, Ford Motor Company, Coney Island, Motown Music, and more. Cherries and apples aren't always the first things that come to mind, but neither is beer, which is a way of life in the Mitten state. There are hundreds of breweries in Michigan and tons in Southwest Michigan.

Kalamazoo is home to dozens of breweries and has quickly been known as one of the places to stop to get some of the best beer in the state. Whether you like IPAs, stouts, lagers, ciders, or any other kind of beer, there is a brewery in Kalamazoo for you. Many of them have grown to receive national recognition but none of them are to the level of Kalamazoo's most famous brewery.

Bell's Brewery has been serving the community of Kalamazoo since 1983 and has since evolved into a company that services the entire world. They are most known for their wheat ale, Oberon which is commonly served with an orange slice. They also have gotten rave comments on their Two-Hearted Ale which falls under the American IPA category.

As they continue to have success, Bell's is looking to expand its footprint here in Michigan. They have announced that they will be opening their second location in Detroit in December of 2024. Bell's Brewery will be opening a taproom and restaurant inside Little Caesar's Arena, which is home to the Detroit Red Wings and Pistons of the NHL and NBA respectively.

The space will be known as The Taphouse presented by Bell’s Brewery and will be unveiled on Wednesday, December 18th as the Detroit Red Wings host the Philadelphia Flyers. The Taphouse will be located on Henry Street between the Google and Comerica entrances and will be operated by Delaware North.

In addition to opening in Little Caesar's Arena. Bell's is also planning a similar expansion in the Gerald R Ford International Airport in Grand Rapids this winter, which will be their third location. Bell's is looking to take Michigan by storm as they are quickly adding two locations across the state in a short time.
