Indiana Man Hits His Own House Then Backs Into Neighbor’s House

A 91-year-old Indiana man caused up to $25,000 in damage Thursday when is mini van "wasn't acting right."

According to the Kokomo Tribune this man's mini van had a mind of it's own,

Harold W. Hall told police the shifting on his 1991 Dodge Caravan wasn’t acting right at around 6:25 p.m. Thursday, so he drove it around the block and pulled into his driveway.
He said while he had the van in drive, it suddenly accelerated and smashed into the east side of his house at 1311 S. Darby St.
Hall said he then put the van in reverse when it again suddenly accelerated out his driveway, across the street and slammed into another house, causing damage to the exterior and an air-conditioning unit.

Giving this guy the benefit of the doubt, there have been stories of cars accelerating out of control in the recent past.  However, those cars are usually much newer models with built in computer systems.  Acceleration and/or lack of manual control had to do with a glitch in the on board computer of those vehicles.  This Indiana man was driving a 1991 Dodge Caravan.  So, this maybe as simple as his foot pushing the wrong pedal.

We may never know why it happened.  But this guy and his neighbor have one heck of a story to tell.
