Back in April, we announced that the 2020 Allegan County Fair was a go. Set for mid-September, it was just assumed that the state of Michigan would be more than re-opened; we'd be back to gathering in large groups enjoying all the entertainment the Allegan County Fair had in line to offer. However, it now looks like the plug has officially been pulled.

In a statement the Allegan County Fair board released, they stated, quote, "The health and welfare of our visitors, vendors, carnival, and employees in our priority. The Coronavirus pandemic and the resulting mandates of the State of Michigan made this difficult decision necessary. This was one of the toughest decisions we have ever faced."

So, what if you'd already purchased tickets to 2020's entertainment, Jeff Dunham? July 8th through July 20th you can request a refund, however you may choose to hang on to your tickets for the show he rescheduled at the Allegan County Fair next year. Vendors who were planning on hawking their wares during the fair are welcome to request of refund, as well, or have the deposit credited to the 2021 Allegan County Fair.

Can't say we didn't see this coming, as we have had to see so many of our summer traditions cancelled due to the Coronavirus, but that doesn't mean it doesn't sting a little. Here's to next year!
