Well, we couldn't hide from it forever, and now it seems like it's here. That time of the year has finally come. The first snowfall in Michigan. Not even a week into October, and already parts of Michigan are seeing snowfall.  The National Weather Service in Marquette tweeted out this morning:

It's snowing here at the NWS office in Negaunee Township at 415 AM EDT with a light accumulation of wet snow on vehicles and grass so far. A slushy inch or two of snow accumulation may occur in the higher terrain of the west and north central U.P. early this morning.

No word yet on when we will start seeing the first snow in Southwest Michigan, but odds are it isn't too far away from us now. Good thing I'm fully stocked on warm clothing.
