Wife of Hackett Grad Gets a Hot New HGTV Show

There's a lot of buzz around this new home renovation show that has a connection to Kalamazoo.

Mary Welch Fox Stasik is a popular interior designer from Charleston, South Carolina.  Stasik's new show 'Breaking Bland' debuted on HGTV on Wednesday, August 4th.  In Breaking Bland, Stasik pushes people out of their comfort zone and gives them a finished product that's unexpected and many times, so unique you've never even considered the idea before.  A great example of that would be the painted floor episode highlighted in this Celebrity Page TV interview below.

Mary is not the only big deal in her home.  Her husband, Ryan Stasik, is the bass player and co-found of the band Umphrey's McGee.  Ryan went to Hackett Catholic Prep High School and then moved to South Bend to attend Notre Dame.  Ryan is in the photo below playing the bass guitar on the right.

Ryan's band Umphrey's McGee just released a new album in mid July called 'You Walked Up Shaking In Your Boots But You Stood Tall and Left a Raging Bull.'  You can get more info or buy the album by clicking here.  The band is currently on tour and is playing a sold out show in Grand Rapids on August 12th.
