Time to Start Planning Your Fall Color Tour in Michigan

Can you believe we are just about a month out from the official start of fall? Crisp, cool air will be here which means fall colors are upon us!  September 22nd we switch gears from all that is summertime and dive right into all that is fall here in Michigan.

Now is the perfect time to start planning out your fall color tour. Michigan is listed as one of the top places to see fall foliage in the country. Listed  amongst the best of the best from North Carolina, Vermont, and the Catskills, Michigan (specifically the Upper Peninsula) ranked 8th in the top 10 by Fodor’s Travel.

So when is the best time to do some leaf-peeping in Michigan? Although it's tough to exactly pinpoint the exact times the leaves will peak, Trip Savvy offered up a little guidance. According to their site, the far western quarter of the Michigan upper peninsula peaks from mid-September to early October. The other  areas in the upper peninsula peak from late September to mid-October. The expected peak color for the lower peninsula is from late September to late October.
