A woman was hospitalized because she was wearing skinny jeans.

A 35-year-old woman was recently hospitalized after helping a family member move while wearing skinny jeans, according to the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery & Psychiatry.

She spent a few hours squatting to clean stuff out of the kitchen cabinets. Her skinny jeans felt increasingly tight and uncomfortable, but she didn't think much of it until she tried to take a walk later, and couldn't! Her calves were so swollen it was impossible to get the jeans off, and she had no feeling in her feet, according to the Courier Mail.

Later that evening, while walking home, she experience foot numbness and the inability to lift the front part of her foot, which caused her to trip and fall, the medical journal stated. She spent several hours lying on the ground before she was found. According to the Courier Mail, no one was around, it was dark, and she spent hours lying on the ground before eventually crawling to the side of the road and hailing a cap to take her to the hospital.

She was rushed to the hospital, where they had to cut off her jeans, and she was there for FOUR DAYS before she could walk again. The medical journal reported that a cause of her condition included "prolonged squatting." The blood supply had been reduced to her leg muscles, causing them to swell and the adjacent nerves to compress.

The doctors who treated her said this should be a good warning about being careful with wearing skinny jeans — or at least being careful about what you do when you're wearing them.

She's fully recovered after being put on an intravenous drip and discharged after four days when she could walk unaided.
