Record Store Day 2016
Record Store Day 2016 is coming up Saturday, April 16th. Here a list of stores that are participating and what you can expect.
For those of you that do not know about Record Store Day. According to Wikipedia,
Record Store Day is an annual event, founded in 2007, held on the third Saturday of April each year to celebrate the culture of the independently owned record store.[1] The day brings together fans, artists, and thousands of independent record stores across the world.[2] A number of records are pressed specifically for Record Store Day, and are only distributed to shops participating in the event.
Last year I got VERY lucky on Record Store Day. One of my all time favorite artists, Freedy Johnston, had a special vinyl pressing of his 1995 hit "Bad Reputation." Side A was Freedy and Side B was Death Cab For Cutie doing a cover of Freedy's hit. I bough multiple copies. I love me some Freedy Johnston.
