Power Outage For Nearly 2,000 Kalamazoo Residents Monday Morning

A possible transformer explosion may have caused a power outage on the East side of Kalamazoo.

You may find traffic lights out on Gull Road near Meijer and Walmart this morning.  Around 6:45 this morning a local resident noticed a big flash followed by traffic lights going out.

We checked the Consumers Energy outtage map and found 1,800 customers are without power on Gull Rd between Sprinkle and G Ave E stretching just beyond 28th Street on the East side of Kalamazoo.

The estimated restoration time is 9:45 this morning.
