Companies are starting to offer paid time off for the death of your pet

Apparently there are some companies that are starting to offer people "pet bereavement days" off work if their pet dies, according to CBS Miami. There are at least three national companies that offer pet bereavement.

A software company called VM Ware, a healthcare company called Maxwell Health, and Kimpton Hotels and Restaurants all give a few paid days off to deal with your emotions after your dog or cat passes away.  A survey found 30% of people who lost pets say they couldn't function right at work afterward.

I think this is a great idea because I wouldn't be able to function at work after losing one of my fur babies.  They are a part of my family.  Speaking of pets, Katie Timber from the SPCA will be in tomorrow with a pet that needs to find a good home!
