Michigan isn't looking good on the The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health "Dirty Dozen."

Every year The National Council for Occupational Safety and Health (COSH) releases a list of 12 employers that put their employees at risk due to unsafe practices.  Two companies based out of Michigan made the list in 2019.

BEDROCK DETROITDetroit, MI

Cited for $3,500 in safety violations, this company owned by billionaire Dan Gilbert launched an aggressive campaign to avoid regulation. Corporate officials told safety inspectors “how to do their jobs and who they were allowed to inspect.”

TOOMA ENTERPRISESSterling Heights, MI

39-year old Jason Holmes dies in a trench collapse, with no shoring or trench box present.

Is this list important?  According to the report from Nationalcosh.org it's very important and here's why,

In addition to more than 5,100 deaths from acute workplace trauma, an estimated 95,000 workers die annually in the U.S. from cancers, respiratory and circulatory diseases and other illnesses associated with long-term exposure in the workplace.
