Michigan Actor Stars In The Movie “I, Tonya”
Paul Hauser was born in Grand Rapids, raised in Saginaw, and now is on the big screen across the country.
Starting at the age of 16, Paul Walter Hauser started performing as a stand up comedian and realized he was really good at writing and performing. From there he started crafting his talent and eventually moved out to California in 2009. Now at the young age of 31, Paul is staring in the major motion picture "I Tonya". According to Mlive.com Paul takes on the role of Shawn Eckhardt...
Tonya Harding's former bodyguard who helped plan the 1994 attack on figure skater Nancy Kerrigan at Cobo Arena in Detroit.
In the movie, Eckhardt and Jeff Gillooly, Harding's ex-husband, recruit and pay men to attack Nancy Kerrigan, Hauser said.
Paul is pretty tight lipped about too many details of the movie, but I suppose that's okay because we all know how the drama played out.
Rottentomates.com describes the movie "I, Tonya" ...
Based on the unbelievable, but true events, I, TONYA is a darkly comedic tale of American figure skater, Tonya Harding, and one of the most sensational scandals in sports history. Though Harding was the first American woman to complete a triple axel in competition, her legacy was forever defined by her association with an infamous, ill-conceived, and even more poorly executed attack on fellow Olympic competitor Nancy Kerrigan.
So this weekend when are thinking about what film to see, go to "I Tonya" and support our Michigan boy Paul Walter Hauser!
