Meet The Mall City Harmonizers From Kalamazoo
I you want to be impressed you gotta check out these amazing singers
I spent Saturday morning at the Women's Lifestyle Expo at the Kalamazoo Expo Center and it was incredible. They had over 200 vendors, that included but not limited too...
- Clothes
- Food
- Health Care
- Credit Unions
- Jewelry
- Make-up
- Perfumes
- Sodas
- Pet Groups
But What I feel head over heals is a musical group that has been here in Kalamazoo since performing 1941 and I had absolutely no idea that this group even existed!
The Mall City Harmonizers describe themselves as...
We are a male a cappella Barbershop chorus and quartets and we’re celebrating our 75th Anniversary in 2016, having been founded in Kalamazoo in 1941. We sing in the traditional 4-part (Lead, Tenor, Baritone and Bass) Barbershop style and our goal is to “ring chords” with great American songs that entertain people throughout the greater Kalamazoo area.
They are different from an acapella group because they use their voice to imitate instruments that a band would use, where Barbershop simply harmonize.
One thing that I was really blown away by was the age differences between all the gentlemen. From a young teen to a stately gentleman and everything in between.
Dare I say, my favorite part of the expo was this stage performance and I do plan on seeing them again!
A little taste of their amazing sound...
