KDPS Has Joined The ‘Neighborhood’ App For Extended Safety

A few months ago I talked about a new app available through the app store or Google play that allows you to report suspicious or harmful activities in your area, which will alert other people nearby. The app, which also alerts police, is free and can even send you alerts when a crime has been reported in your area. That alone makes me feel super comfortable, especially for those who have kids who may be playing in an area that has an active criminal nearby. The app is meant to be used after you contact the police and acts as the neighborhood watch through your phone.

The Kalamazoo Department of Public Safety have just announced they have joined "the neighborhood" by stating: "KDPS is proud to announce that it is joining the free Neighbors app by Ring to provide the City of Kalamazoo community with real-time, local crime and safety information. Download the app and join us!"
