Kalamazoo named Top 20 College Destination

The American Institute for Economic Research has placed Kalamazoo in their top 20 list of small metro areas in their 2017 College Destination Index.The list are broken down into four categories- Major, Mid-size, Small metro areas, and college towns.

Kalamazoo was ranked 20th in the small metros category. Ann Arbor was first, Lansing 17th.

After talking about WMU and K-College, and some of the hospitals and employers in town, the site goes on to say

Kalamazoo offers a great restaurant and bar scene, largely because of its local breweries and brewpubs. The best known is Bell’s Brewery. Aside from local brews, students will also enjoy some of the lowest rents among all small metros in the country.
