March Madness Basketball Courts Made In Michigan’s Upper Peninsula

Everyone knows that cars, Vernor's, square pizza, and Motown Music come from Michigan.

But did you know that the Final Four has been played on basketball courts made in the Mitten State for nearly the last 20 years? It's true!

Connor Sports, located in the western Upper Peninsula, has been the official court supplier of the NCAA Final Four since 2006. This year, the Michigan company's basketball courts will also be used for the regional finals, as well as the regional finals and Final Four for women's basketball.

Connor Sports manufactures its basketball floors in Amasa, about 50 miles southwest of Marquette. Less than 250 people lived in Amasa in 2020, according to the U.S. Census.

Being the NCAA's official basketball court supplier is key to the Connor Sports business, CEO Benjamin Bachman told MLive.com:
