It's only June but the hunt is on!

Christmas seems so far off but our state is asking if anyone knows the perfect Christmas to represent our great state.

Michigan’s Department of Technology, Management and Budget Director Trish Foster told Mlive...

“We are looking for help from Michiganders to select the perfect tree. As people are traveling the state this summer, we ask them to be on the lookout for that one tree that that would look great adorned in lights in front of the Capitol this winter.”

Here is what the Department of Technology, Management and Budget are looking for...

  • Trees must be a spruce or fir
  • Trees must be at least 60 feet tall
  • Trees must have a maximum crown of 24 feet
  • Trees must have a maximum trunk diameter of 30 inches.

With all of our amazing country sides and back roads this awesome tree should not be hard to find. Just remember don't steal it out of someones front yard!
