Gibson Guitars Founder Had The Sickest Fashion Sense

When you think of guitar players fashion style, the go-to obvious ideas are torn jeans, cigarette, long hair, rock shirt, chain wallet/keys on a carabiner. But back in the early 1900's, they didn't have most of those. In fact, you'd be surprised what the Kalamazoo based founder and creator of Gibson Guitars, Orville Gibson, actually looked like. One man on Facebook recently posted a picture of him, and your mind may not be prepared for the sheer awesomeness of what it's about to witness.

The photo was posted by Professor Poster and comes with the caption: Orville H. Gibson (May 1856 – August 19, 1918) was a luthier who founded the Gibson Guitar Company in Kalamazoo, Michigan in 1902, makers of guitars, mandolins and other instruments. His earliest known instrument was a 10-string mandolin-guitar, which bears the date 1894. Just thought you might like to see what this pioneer actually looked like.... A colorful character no doubt!
