Dogs and their humans are doing their part for the elderly in Grand Haven.

It must be heartbreaking for our elders to be quarantined away from all of their friends and family in nursing homes during this Covid-19 pandemic.  Sure, it is very necessary.  But, still heartbreaking.

Sunday afternoon a group of volunteers and their dogs did what they could to turn those frowns upside down.

Kris Larsen came up with the idea according to The Grand Haven Tribune,

She created an event called “Doggie in the Window.” “It’s like the song,” she said.

Larsen posted a request on social media, asking if any of her friends would like to bring their dogs for an outside visit to the nursing home residents.

At 3 p.m. Sunday, volunteers showed up with 20 dogs, including a crateful of puppies.
