In a year that's been essentially destroyed by the pandemic, maybe this is a glimmer of good news. Cedar Point is hiring for fall.

And thinking out of the box; with so many students doing classes online, maybe this is an opportunity to combine working at Cedar Point and taking online classes in your off time. That could be a win-win for many enterprising college students.

What Cedar Point is looking for is people to work in "food & beverage, ride operations, event attractions, hotel operations, merchandise, games, park services, security, safety, and more."

The plan at Cedar Point is to be busy with Halloween related events in addition to the regular attractions at the park. The Tricks and Treats Fall Fest is supposed to be on Saturdays and Sundays, beginning on Sept. 12 and will continue through Nov. 1. Cedar Point says the Tricks and Treats Fall Fest is a new event designed for the whole family.

As far the job goes, first question is usually "what does it pay?" Cedar Point's release says "Fall positions start at $9 per hour with a special $2 per hour premium pay incentive. In addition, a $1 per hour bonus will be applied at the end of the associate’s employment agreement, bringing the total added wage increase to $3 per hour worked during Tricks and Treats Fall Fest."

Also, remember, "associate benefits include free housing (for ages 18 and older living more than 30 miles from the park), free meals on Saturdays, gas cards up to $50 for associate carpool drivers, a free crew sweatshirt, free access to the park during time off, in-park discounts, free tickets for family and friends, special associate-only events and more."
