CBS Fires Criminal Minds Star

Aaron Hotchner is no more.

According to Variety.com, Thomas Gibson has officially been fired from Criminal Minds after violating CBS’ three-strike policy.  The final straw was him kicking a writer on set two weeks ago, after a DUI arrest in 2013 and shoving one of the show's assistant directors back in 2010.  Thomas released a statement about his dismissal on Friday saying,

"I love Criminal Minds and have put my heart and soul into it for the last 12 years. I had hoped to see it through to the end, but that won’t be possible now. I would just like to say thank you to the writers, producers, actors, our amazing crew, and, most importantly, the best fans that a show could ever hope to have."

ABC Studios and CBS TV Studios said in a statement Friday.

“Creative details for how the character’s exit will be addressed in the show will be announced at a later date.”
