If you were worried that Georgia State was maybe as good as their season opening upset over SEC school Tennessee, it turns out there really was nothing to worry about. Western Michigan just kept scoring and scoring and when the game was over, the scoreboard at Waldo Stadium read "57-10".

The Comm-University Night crowd of 22,328, on a perfect night, saw the Broncos score seven rushing touchdowns, led by three long touchdown runs by LeVante Bellamy. A sixty yard touchdown run practically before fans were seated. Then another at the end of the first quarter for 36 yards, and a 73 yard touchdown run in the second quarter.

Those seven running touchdowns are a Bronco team record, and fifth most ever by a MAC school.

The much-maligned Bronco defense held the Panthers to 10 points, and were led by linebacker Treshaun Hayward, who led the team with 13 tackles, 1.5 sacks and forced a fumble.

The 47 point victory marks an impressive comeback for WMU after last week giving up 51 points to Michigan State and this week scoring 57 against Georgia State.

The offensive totals for the night were impressive: 694 yards of total offense, 450 on the ground.

The celebration will have to be short as the Broncos fly to Syracuse for a game with the Orangemen next Saturday at Noon. Syracuse, at this writing, is losing to the number one team in the country, Clemson. That game will be on the new ACC Network, where it's available.
