Broncos’ Beal Hoping To Enter NFL Via Supplemental Draft
Another member of the Western Michigan Broncos' Cotton Bowl team is hoping to be playing on Sundays this fall.ESPN's Adam Schefter reports WMU's Sam Beal has petitioned the NCAA to become eligible for the NFL's Supplemental Draft in July.
Schefter says Beal, a cornerback, was already projected to be a high draft pick in 2019. With the NCAA's permission,

The rules of the supplemental draft are somewhat complex. After a weighted system that determines interest, then bidding can begin.
After the order is determined, each team submits to the league the name of the player(s) they are interested in, as well as the round of the supplemental draft they would like to choose them in. The team that submits the highest bid is awarded rights to the player. - Thoughtco.com
Troubled Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon came into the league via the supplemental draft, as did Terrelle Pryor with Oakland. Another supplemental draftee was Hall of Fame receiver Cris Carter.
Schefter says 43 players total have been chosen in the supplemental draft, Beal hoping to be 44th.
