For those of you not hip to the little town of Marcellus, MI, every year they put on a festival which spans 3 days, filled with rides, food, a pinewood derby, morning parade, car show, a beer tent, and live music, along with a DJ & Karaoke. Recently,  the town has had 3 major businesses close within the past few months, and now the people of the community are coming together and trying their hardest to make the Bluegill Frolic happen. Allegedly, the original person who was in charge of organizing the event this year decided to cancel and backed out with just over a month until the festival was suppose to take place, on July 19th, 20th, and 21st.

He declined help and didn’t try to hand it over to anyone else before cancelling all vendors and returning what donations he had received. The organizers are in dire need of sponsors, vendors, and volunteers. With such little notice, they are making vendor booth rentals FREE unless the vendor needs electricity or water, then there will be a small $25 fee. They're also in need of volunteers to man the bounce houses and help make sure everything runs smoothly. The Bluegill Frolic is set to take place still on Saturday, July 20th. They will have the beer tent starting Friday the 19th at 7pm with a DJ/Karaoke and cornhole. Vendors are encouraged to set up Friday as well for the small block party. If you're interested in helping or setting up a vendor booth, contact Amberly Ware at (269) 816-8909 or via her Facebook.
