Katy Perry was reduced to tears during a recent episode of American Idol, and it wasn't the amazing talent that did it.

During Hollywood Week on the popular singing competition, contestant Johanna Jones was surprised with a proposal from her longtime boyfriend. In a pre-show interview, Jones gushed about how much she wished her beau could be there, calling him "the most supportive, loving, awesome guy." She added, "I don't want to get ahead of myself, but I think he's the one." After taking the stage to perform Chris Isaak's "Wicked Game" in Las Vegas, Jones' boyfriend appeared on stage to propose.

"I couldn't be here because of exams, but I couldn't wait another day," he said before getting down on one knee. "Johanna, you're the love of my life. Will you marry me?"

As the couple hugged, kissed and celebrated the news, Perry could be seen dramatically crying from behind the judges' table. She at one point shouted, "Why won't someone love me like that?" despite the fact that she recently got engaged to boyfriend Orlando Bloom. Perry's reaction broke up the emotional moment, and fans loved it.

In addition to her new engagement, Jones learned on Monday night that she would continue on in the competition. She's set to compete in a Hawaii-set round of the American Idol series on March 31.

After the episode aired, Jones took to Instagram to reveal that she and her fiance will be tying the knot on June 22 in Las Vegas. She added that she was so excited to marry "my best friend, my favorite person."
