After 45 years of taking care of Kalamazoo's hard core and casual bicycling enthusiasts, Alfred E. Bike has made it official.The long time downtown Kalamazoo business is closing. In a Facebook post, they stock all the bikes are already sold, and all that's left is some fixture and accessories to sell at auction.

That will be a viewing on site on February 8th, and an online auction through biddergy.com on February 9th.

While the news is sad for fans of the business, it's comes with good news. Co-founder Doug Stevenson is retiring, but with good motivation. He recently became a grandfather and his new love is baby Kai.
