Two of the greatest Detroit Tigers of the past 40 years were finally voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Jack Morris and Alan Trammell were selected today by the Modern Era Committee. They will be enshrined July 29th in Cooperstown, New York, along with the regular inductees who will be announced next month.

Morris began his career with the Tigers the same year Trammell did (1977) and helped pitch four teams to World Series victories; Detroit in 1984, the Minnesota Twins in 1991 and the Toronto Blue Jays in 1992 and 1993. He was the winningest pitcher of the 1980's. Morris threw a 10-inning shutout in Game 7 to win the 1991 World Series for the Twins.
