A Lansing man was arrested for assault with a machete.  But don't worry, he's just killing zombies.

This crazy story began when a man, later identified as 22-year-old Jordan Lee Cook of Lansing, hit two deer with his car in Colfax Township in Benzie County last Tuesday.  A witness saw the driver get out of his car and look around frantically while holding an unknown object in his hand.  Things escalated quickly when the Michigan State Police arrived on the scene according to ABC 12,

The trooper then noticed the man running towards him, wielding a machete. The trooper identified himself and ordered the man to drop his weapon.

The suspect appeared to be under the influence of some kind of whacky substance.  He was saying lots of crazy things.  For example, he claimed he had been fighting off zombies.  Everybody knows it's not zombie season.  When the state trooper searched Cook's crashed car he found three unloaded guns in the trunk.  Look at the size of the assault rifles the trooper found in the tweet below.

Cook is facing many serious charges which include:

  • one count of carrying a firearm or dangerous weapon with unlawful intent,
  • one count of Assault with a Dangerous Weapon
  • one count of Operating under the influence

His court appearance is scheduled for Jan 21st.  That's the day after the end of the world.
