Checking on the Kalamazoo chapters of both the American Red Cross and Salvation Army, their websites are directing to national efforts to raise money to help the victims of the flooding in southeastern Texas and the Houston area.
WWMT reports that Red Cross volunteers from Michigan are already on their way to Texas to help with relief efforts. The station quotes Red Cross officials saying: "The Red Cross says right now its biggest need is volunteers trained in shelter operations, since hundreds of thousands have lost their homes."
