The city of Kalamazoo is looking for new ideas and thoughts when it comes to their parks and they want their citizens to offer their ideas. MLive reports that The city of Kalamazoo announced a group of public meetings in June and July to open the table up to new ideas for a new plan and 10 year strategy. City staff are encouraging residents to join them at summer events like Lunchtime Live! in Bronson Park and Movies in the Parks to offer ideas as well, which will help guide future park improvement projects and programs throughout the city.

The following dates and locations are when you can actively participate in meetings and the sharing of ideas:

  • Tuesday, June 12, 6-7:30 p.m., LaCrone Park
  • Saturday, June 23, 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Southside Park
  • Tuesday, July 10, 6-7:30 p.m., Woods Lake Park
  • Thursday, July 26, 6-7:30 p.m., Rockwell Park
  • Lunchtime Live! - every Friday from June 8 to Sept. 28 between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m.
  • Friday, May 29th, 9 p.m- 11 p.m., "Jurassic Park" Movies In The Park
