Every 9/11, Volunteer Kalamazoo rallies the community to do good deeds, to remember by doing. This year, the organization is offering the community and families a chance to give back together.

The Family Day of Service will bring more than a dozen service projects into one convenient place for families with kids of all ages. Engaging projects with local organizations such as Ministry with Community, Habitat for Humanity, and Blue Star Mothers of America are just a few on the list.

This Day of Service is open to all, but the service projects and format are geared toward families with kids of all ages that want to teach their kids about the importance of volunteering. Parents are encouraged to do service right alongside their kids (very young children may require assistance) and families can come and go anytime during the event. Last year’s 9/11 Family Day of Service brought in over 113 volunteers to clock approximately 370 total volunteer hours through their participation within the 3 hour period!
When: Friday, September 11, 4:00 – 7:00 pm
Where: Radisson Plaza Hotel, Kalamazoo Room
