Every year there's one or two people you want to really surprise and give them the most unique, special gift ever. I think I can help you. This is the gift.

I got a note from the Gilmore Car Museum in Hickory Corners. They are offering a series of classes on how to drive a Model T Ford. If your first reaction is "so what?" then, move on. You don't get it.

But...imagine driving a car from over one hundred years ago. No gas pedal. No speedometer. The Model T came out in 1908. The Cubs were the World Champs. Wait, where am I going with this? For anybody who appreciate old cars, or real driving, the way it was, or simply, history, this is the real deal.

“Think of it as going back to driver’s training—old school that is!”  -  Gilmore Car Museum spokesman Jay Follis.

Each class runs about fours and you get to practice on the grounds of the car museum. They have about three miles of paved roads.

It's not a plain old tie or a lame bottle of aftershave. It's something that will be remembered for a long, long time. This driving school doesn't begin until May, but the classes fill up and sell out fast, so you may want to jump on this. You can sign up here.
