Calling all 'Star Wars' fans, now is your chance to see how it all started.

Ever want to see Chewbacca's fur up close, or the original sketches for Darth Vader's costume? Now you can!

Starting this spring 'the force' is coming to the Detroit Institute of Art! A traveling exhibition of "Star Wars" costumes, concept art, and video interviews with designers and actors will be featured. This will be the sixth stop of the tour before it heads off to Seattle Washington.

The Detroit Free Press reports that...

The exhibit,  "Star Wars and the Power of Costume," features more than 60 costumes, including Darth Vader, Chewbacca, droids and many others.

The costumes are from the first seven "Star Wars" movies and promises to be out of this world!

Prices:

  • Adults are $19.00 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday
  • Adults are $24.00 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday
  • Youth tickets are only $7.00

Tickets for the general public go on Sale Sunday (April 1st) and the exhibition runs from May 20th through September 30th.
