Seen Everything? Drink While You Grocery Shop or Vice Versa

I think I have now seen everything. My fiance Kathy and I were shopping at Horrocks on Saturday afternoon and we noticed folks walking around with full beer glasses. Hmmm. And wine glasses. Hmmmm. So we asked.

Yes, they have a bar in the middle of the store and you can get a drink, and walk around and shop. Makes perfect sense; a more pleasant shopping experience for the shopper and certainly good for the store, especially on impulse buys.

I guess what I don't understand is, why can you drink and shop and yet, a few years ago, Jude's Barber Shop got busted for serving beers to guys getting their hair cuts. You're not even operating heavy (shopping cart) machinery.
